The Proudies Foundation Inc. was incorporated on 16 July 2012, endorsed as a deductible gift recipient, and granted a Charitable Collections Licence (licence number 21405) on the 16 November 2012. Thanks to so many generous donors; sponsors and fundraisers the Foundation has raised over $180,000.00 to date, all of which assists in covering the costs of providing Warrick with the best care possible.
To give you an idea of the costs involved, here are just some of the equipment and treatment that is involved in Warrick's care:
- Tilting bed $10 - $15,000.00
- Wheelchair - $11,500.00
- Standing Frame in excess of - $10,000.00
- Home renovations to enable Warrick to be cared for at home - $17,000.00
- Purchasing a vehicle and having it modified to allow wheelchair access - $43,000.00
- Gantry to assist in physio and moving Warrick - $5,000.00
- Treatments such as physio, acupuncture, massage and speech therapy costing on average - $20,000 per year
Add to this overnight carers which enable the family to have at least two nights off from getting up to check on Warrick or to turn him over; medicines, supplements, peg tubes and food and you can see that the Foundation still has a lot of work to do to ensure Warrick continues to receive the best care.
From bike rides and fun runs, to swims to Rottnest; from commemorative football games and school holiday football clinics, to calendars and wrist bands, our huge band of supporters have done everything possible to raise funds for their much loved mate Warrick. An ongoing and regular source of fundraising is the tins placed in shops and businesses in the Albany community and who to date have contributed over $23,000.00. The Family and the Foundation remain in awe of the ongoing amazing support from the Albany Community.
The Foundation and the Proudlove Family are also eternally grateful to organisations such as Myplace who continue to provide care and support to Warrick and the family in so many ways.
